Kenneth James NORFOLK - Kenneth James, 52, of the 1000 block of Dubose Drive, passed away Aug. 14, 2008, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1955, to the late Richard and Carolyn James in Norfolk. He was educated in the Norfolk public school system. Kenneth was a member of Woodland Avenue Baptist Church where he sang in the Senior and Male choirs. He retired after more than 20 years of service with Tidewater Psychiatric Institute as a substance counselor and recently retired from Trans Care where he worked in medical transport. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Iris James; one daughter, Katrina Little; three sons, Jason James, Jonathan James and Brandon James; three stepsons, Adrian Miles, George Miles Jr. and Michael Muhammad; three sisters, June James (Edwin), Kimberly Scruggs (Colombus) and Beverly Harrell; one brother, Richard James Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. The Rev. Marcus Jennings will officiate. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble at 6303 Pelican Crescent South, Suffolk, VA 23435, one hour prior to service for procession to the chapel. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
