Marilyn Cohn Obituary


Marilyn M. Cohn NORFOLK - Marilyn Mandel Cohn died Aug. 13, 2008. Marilyn was born Jan. 2, 1943, in Norfolk, the only child of Abe and Sylvia Levinson Mandel. Survivors include her parents; her husband, Harry L. Cohn; his children, Jeffrey S. Cohn and Wendy C. Miller and their families; aunts, Irene Mandel Blum and Harriette Klaff Mandel; uncle, Bernard Levinson; a host of cousins, family and friends. Marilyn retired from service to the Commonwealth of Virginia as legislative assistant in the General Assembly, Department of Agriculture, Virginia Court of Appeals, executive assistant to the secretary of the Commonwealth under Governor Mark Warner and DEPOR. She graduated from Granby High School and from Georgia State University in Atlanta. The services were held Aug. 15 at Temple Beth Ahabah, with burial in Hebrew Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I remember Marilyn from high school. I especially remember her cheering the Granby Comets on to victory. I am sure that she will be missed.

I met Marilyn right after she moved to Richmond and married my best friend Tommy. I haven't seen her in many years and know she will be greatly misses.
