John Lockhart Obituary
John T. Lockhart NORFOLK - John Thomas "JT" Lockhart, 64, passed away peacefully Aug. 19, 2008. He was one of the first babies born in DePaul Hospital Aug. 1, 1944. He served in the National Guard, was an avid fisherman and former manager/chef in the family seafood restaurant Lockhart's of Norfolk. His final years were devoted to caring for his son, John Barry. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Catherine Rowan Lockhart of Virginia Beach; sons, Ray, John Barry, Tom and Jerry Lockhart; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Robin and Jeffrey Lockhart. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Lockhart; sister, Renee; granddaughter, Jessica and son, Steve Lockhart. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dick and Reynaldo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at George and Sandy Baker's home, 421 Warner Circle, Norfolk, following the service. Please share your love and condolences with the family at www.mem.com.

I would like to thank all of the people who attended my Father's funeral service (in mind or body..I realize not everyone could make it). Your kind words to the family during this time were very appreciated and will go a long way to ease our grieving process. Our heartfelt thanks go out to you all.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Lockhard clan. I have many happy memories of meals at Lockharts & washing glasses when the dishwasher was broken. Some good parties in the back room and watching TV near the bar. All my best to them all as they go thru this very difficilt time.

I knew JT as my father-n-law for over 9 years. He was a very devoted father to John Barry. I have a great memory of JT taking us all fishing and knowing exactly where to drop our lines. What a bunch of fish we caught that day! So this is how I picture what JT is doing right now....he is on his boat, in good health, sun on his face and a fishing rod in hand. Happy fishing JT!

I was married in JT's house in 1974??, JT will be missed by many. He was a kind and gentle person.
