Carolyn Paulding Obituary


Carolyn Vernice Paulding CHESAPEAKE - Carolyn Vernice Paulding, 66, of the 2500 block of Cedar Road, passed way Aug. 18, 2008, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. She was born to Gladys E. Rountree and the late Roland T. Rountree Jr. in Norfolk County. She is survived by one son, Craig Paulding (Delores) of Chesapeake; one daughter, Karen Paulding-Canty (Anthony) of Richmond; six sisters, Loretta Rountree of Richmond, G. Marie Henryhand (Lawrence) of Harrisburg, Pa., Faye Rountree, Sharon Wilson (Wilbur), Joy Haskins (Kenneth), all of Chesapeake, Darlene Branch of Newport News; five brothers, Melvin, Lawrence, Miles (JoAnn) and Roy Rountree, all of Chesapeake, Bishop Bruce Rountree of Mobile, Ala.; granddaughter, Courtney Paulding of Chesapeake; 11 nieces, eight nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Rock Church, 640 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach. Bishop Anne Gimenez will officiate. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 2813 Golden Court one hour prior to service for procession to the church. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today with a wake service from 3 to 5 p.m. in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Ave. Chapel. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
