Peter T. Favreau OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. - Peter T. Favreau, 47, died Aug. 16, 2008, in Mobile, Ala., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Oceanside, N.Y., Sept. 30, 1960, the son of Francis A. and Catherine T. (Nolan) Favreau. He had resided in Virginia Beach prior to moving to Ocean Springs. Mr. Favreau was a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Navy having served onboard the USS Forrestal as an intelligence specialist and as a supply officer on the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the USS Portland. He also served as the assistant supply officer at the Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, and in a joint position at SACLANT, Norfolk. He earned a masters degree at the Naval War College in Newport, R.I., and later also earned an MBA. He held the rank of lieutenant commander at the time of his retirement. He was a program manager at the Northrop Grumman Ship Systems and was an adjunct professor at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gautier, Miss. Peter was teaching himself to play the guitar. He loved his long early morning walks with his two dogs and making pizza every weekend with his family. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family taking walks, eating ice cream or just hanging out. Survivors include his best friend and wife, Barbara (Coon) Favreau, with whom he recently celebrated 25 years of marriage. He was her biggest supporter. He is also survived by daughter, Seneth Favreau, a student at the University of South Alabama in Mobile; sons, Marine Lance Cpl. Thomas Favreau of Camp Pendleton, Calif., Peter Favreau and Connor Favreau, also students at USA in Mobile; his parents, Spike and Catherine Favreau of Troy, N.H.; brother, Timothy Favreau and his family of Titusville, Pa.; as well as his in-laws, Gail Coon of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Paul and Maureen Coon of Newport News; and many friends and co-workers. Services for Mr. Favreau will be held in Ocean Springs at a later date. Burial took place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Fitzwilliam, N.H., Saturday where he was laid to rest alongside his brother, Michael.
