Carolyn Jones Obituary


Carolyn G. Jones VIRGINIA BEACH - Carolyn G. Jones, 63, of Auburndale, Fla., and Virginia Beach, passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, from complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was born to the late Wilda Agnes and George Washington Grounds Nov. 11, 1944, in Wheeling, W.Va. She graduated from Montgomery High School, Montgomery, W.Va., in 1962. Carolyn was a librarian for the federal government for more than 32 years. She enjoyed creating altered books, stamping and many other arts and crafts. She was an avid reader of horror and mystery novels. She loved to bake cakes and cookies and took great pleasure in planning family holiday dinners. She is survived by her husband, John David Jones; her three sons, John, James and Jeffrey, their spouses, Barry Squire, Connie and Melissa; her grandchildren, Christopher, Samantha, Amber, Jeffrey and Joshua; and her sister, Donna Abbott. A memorial service is planned but details have not been finalized and will be forthcoming. Carolyn requested her body be used in medical science and her wishes were followed. Condolences may be sent to 531 Somerset Drive, Auburndale, FL 33823. In lieu of flowers, Carolyn requested that donations be made to your local hospice in memory of Carolyn G. Jones, Auburndale, Fla.
