Marie Olson Obituary


Marie Yvonne Olson CHESAPEAKE - On Aug. 29, 2008, Marie Yvonne Olson, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, where she joined her beloved husband, Donald A. Olson, who predeceased her in January 2007. A proud native conch of Key West, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Beulah Albury Lowe and attended the Gospel Hall Assembly. She was a loving and devoted mother and wife, and her biggest joy in life was taking care of her family. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth M. Heinlein and her husband Carston of Cornelius, N.C.; son, Richard H. Olson and his wife Nonna of Lincolnton; two granddaughters, Deborah Williams of Milton, Vt., and Diane Jones and her husband, Mike of Clinton, N.C.; five grandsons, Timothy S. Olson and his wife Love of Pineville, N.C., Kent Olson and his wife, Natalie of Durham, Maine, Kevin D. Olson of Topsham, Maine, Lance E. Heinlein and S. Dale Heinlein, both of Bend, Ore.; half sister, Geraldine Hamblin of Kingfield, Maine; two half-brothers, Charles Lowe of Cedartown, Ind., and Morris Lowe of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, with Robert Costen and Vernon Marsh officiating. Interment will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gospel Hall, 1204 Laurel Ave., Chesapeake, VA 23325.
