Herman Mills Obituary
Herman E. Mills SUFFOLK - Elder Herman E. Mills of the 100 block of Robertson St. died Aug. 29, 2008, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was born in Gates, N.C., to the late John Mills and Pininah Mills. Elder Mills retired from the Virginia State Highway Dept. He was a member of St. Stephens Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as elder. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Mills; one daughter, Juanita Watford; one son, Sanchez Mills (Janice), all of Suffolk; one sister, Bernice Ebron of Greenville, N.C.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at noon Wednesday at Rising St. James Holiness Church, Suffolk, with Bishop Dwight Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. A public visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Wyatt & Sons Funeral Home. His remains will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. the day of service.
