James Johnson Obituary
James E. Johnson BOYKINS - James Earl "Speck" Johnson, 64, died Aug. 31, 2008, in his residence. He was born in Newsoms, a son of the late Ryland and Lila Mae Story Johnson. James retired from Narricott Industries after 20 years in maintenance. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Linda Summers Johnson; his son, Robert Lee Burton and wife Robin of Courtland; two sisters, Joyce Miles of Boykins and Diane Colon of Suffolk; one brother, Grady Johnson of Franklin; a special nephew, Dickie Allen Harrison and wife Carrie of Conway, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, Joyce, Robbie, Jamie and Mandy Burton, Marie Vick, Leeann Heath and husband Patrick, Dustin, Cody, Kyrie and James-Kevin Harrison, Joshua and Tony Leach; and one great-grandson, Daniel Heath. A funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
