Chris Parker Obituary


Chris Wayne Parker CHESAPEAKE - Chris Wayne Parker, 56, of the 4200 block of Nautilus Ave. passed away suddenly Sept. 2, 2008, in his home. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late Mary Kate and Hugh H. Parker Sr. He retired in 2007 from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a safety inspector with 34 years of service. He graduated from Indian River High School in 1971, served in the U.S. Army from March 1971 to March 1974 and was a former member of the greater Chesapeake Jaycees. Chris is survived by two daughters, Sarah Tate Elizabeth Parker and Temple Ann Parker, both of Chesapeake; a brother, Hugh "Ricky" Parker Jr. and wife Zora of Newport News; a sister, Sally Parker Brunswick and husband Doug of Chesapeake; and a granddaughter, Hannah Lanay Brightwell of Chesapeake. He is also survived by three nephews, Erik Carr and wife Elaine, Lance Brunswick and Logan Brunswick; a niece, Peyton Brunswick and fiancee Rosalind Deets; and a great-niece, Alyssa Kate Carr. A funeral will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 9 p.m. and at all other times at his sister's home. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

I miss u uncle chris....there are so many thing that remind me of you and I have a daughter now...I found out I was pregnat the same day we found out u had passed away....I'm just tryin to get my life right. I hope you and I daddy and grandma are watchin over me and everyone. I misss all of y'all and I can't wait to see you again. Gone but never forgotten I love you!!!
