Charles Hutchinson Obituary


Charles W. Hutchinson PALM BAY, Fla. - Charles W. "Chuck" Hutchinson died Aug. 29, 2008, at home in Palm Bay, Fla. He was born March 4, 1921, to Charles W. and Emily Taylor Hutchinson Sr. in Huntington, W.Va. His family includes sisters, Emily Johnston of Vero Beach, Fla., and Mary Margaret Wimmer of Melbourne, Fla.; stepchildren, Sherry McCormick of Moyock, N.C., Brad Ross of New York, Greg Ross of Palm Bay, Peggy Humphries of Virginia Beach; nephew, David Johnston of Atlanta; niece, Margaret Johnston of San Rafael, Calif.; niece, Leslie Wimmer of Davie, Fla., and nephew, Scott Wimmer of Crested Butte, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia Ross Hutchinson of Virginia Beach; and by his son, Charles W. Hutchinson III, son of Mary Kay Henderson of Huntington, W.Va. He was also preceded in death by his dearest friend and beloved partner, Helen Keaton of San Antonio, Fla. Chuck owned and operated Automatic Sprinklers of Tidewater Inc. in Virginia Beach. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a graduate of Greenbrier Military Academy in Lewisburg, W.Va. While living in Huntington, Chuck was president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Huntington. Chuck loved to dance and was a past president of the Senior Twirlers of Virginia Beach. His memorial service will be Saturday at Palm Bay Funeral Home, 950 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay, Fla., (321) 724-2224, with Rabbi Fred Natkin officiating the 4 p.m. service. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, International Headquarters, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
