Roscoe Stallings Obituary


Roscoe L. Stallings Jr. JAMESVILLE - Roscoe Leroy Stallings Jr., 87, of the 2000 block of NC Hwy. 171, died Sept. 2, 2008, at his home. Born Nov. 26, 1920, in Martin County, he was the son of the late Roscoe L. Stallings Sr. and Dare Sexton Stallings. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired self-employed auto mechanic and a member of Cedar Branch Baptist Church. He was married May 30, 1958, to Eva Kiff Stallings, who survives him. In addition to his wife, Mr. Stallings is survived by his sons, the Rev. William Joseph Stallings of Wilson and Mark Allen Stallings of Bear Grass; sisters Marion S. Bradley of Jamesville and Dean Reynolds of Fulton, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Jessica Stallings Nichols and Justin Stallings, both of Bear Grass, and Cassie Stallings of Wilson. A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Cedar Branch Baptist Church by the Rev Paul Weaver, Dr. Wayne Ellis and the Rev. Doug Stokes. Burial will be in Jamesville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church and other times at the residence. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Jamesville Rescue Squad. Biggs Funeral Home, Williamston, is handling arrangements.
