Clara Holley Obituary


Clara Mae Holley PORTSMOUTH - Clara Mae Holley, 63, of the 3700 block of Sugar Creek Circle, went home peacefully Aug. 31, 2008. She was born July 19, 1945, in Portsmouth, to the late Fish Jr. and Vivian Terrell. Clara was educated in the Portsmouth school system. Clara was employed with the Portsmouth Public School Board for a number of years. She will be graciously remembered for her ability to bring people together by cooking great food, especially her "finger-lickin yock." Clara was the widow of Henry Holley. She was also predeceased by a son, Mark Holley and a grandson, Dwayne Terrell. She leaves to carry on her legacy one sibling, Tracy Moseley; three daughters, Sharon Terrell, Cynthia Harvey and Vivian Holley and a son, Eric Holley. Also left to cherish her memory are 17 grandchildren, Antoinette Terrell, Tonika Terrell, Emanuel Holley, Shanita Holley, Ricardo Holley, Martario Holley, Cherry Terrell, Sherry Terrell, Johnathan Holley, Demeatric Blow, Antonio Holley, Bria Bell, Erica Atkins, Brenae Bell, Keshara Elliott, Dasha Elliott and Daequan Thomas, all of Portsmoutha. Clara also leaves her loving great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing will be held Friday from 2 until 7 p.m. at J.T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N. George Washington Highway, Chesapeake. A life celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Beginnings Christian Center, 5900 Arthur Ave., Portsmouth. The Rev. James E. Chisholm will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.jtfisherfuneralservices.com.
