Malcolm Pitt Obituary


Malcolm Pitt PORTSMOUTH - Malcolm "Michael" Pitt, 54, departed this earthly life in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth, in the early morning hours of Aug. 29, 2008. He was the son of the late Johnnie Pitt and Josephine Moore Pitt. Malcolm worked many jobs as a handy man and friendly helper. He was a lifetime member of Celestial Baptist Church, Portsmouth. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Shelly and brothers, Donald and Ronald Pitt. Malcolm leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Madeline Frazier Gaillard (John) "caregiver" and Gracie Lee Pitt of Portsmouth, Mary Ruth Pitt of Chesapeake and Hortense Williams (John) of Woodbridge, Va.; and brothers, Johnnie Pitt Jr. of Norfolk and William Pitt of Chesapeake; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Malcolm was a devoted brother, uncle, cousin and friend, and will be sadly missed. Viewing will be held Friday at J.T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N. George Washington Highway, Chesapeake, from 4 until 7 p.m. A life celebration service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home by the Rev. Leon J. Boone. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will be receiving family and friends at 3721 Woodmere Drive, Portsmouth. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.jtfisherfuneralservices.com.
