Sean Lovas Obituary

Sean Alexander Lovas VIRGINIA BEACH - Our son, our friend and the light that kept our lives bright, Sean Alexander Lovas, 40, went to be with the Lord Sept. 3, 2008. He passed away at The Medical College of Virginia, Richmond. A native of Virginia Beach, Sean was a graduate of First Colonial High School and Radford University. He was the vice president of Lovas Insurance Agency, a Nationwide agent. Sean and his family attended Grace Bible Church in Virginia Beach. Sean was an avid golfer and boater. We are sure the lakes, rivers and oceans will be wondering where he is, as he was the ultimate fisherman and outdoorsman. He also enjoyed skiing in his youth. He was an active member of the Cavalier Golf & Yacht Club and served on the Ambassador's Club. He was also a volunteer for the Neptune Festival. Whenever Sean came into a room he brought out the best in everyone with his smile, his twinkle in his eye and his witty sense of humor. His love for his companion Drake (dog) was neverending and the love he showed toward family and friends was unmatched. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Joseph and Marque Lovas of Virginia Beach; brother, Jasen Lovas and his wife Sidney and their daughter Taylor; his grandmother, Margaret Trouland; his aunts, Alexia Austin and Alexis Bowles; his three cousins and his goddaughter, Isabelle Michaels. Sean is also survived by his beloved dog and best buddy, Drake and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of Sean's life will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Spring Branch Community Church with Dean Woodward officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today in the Laskin Road Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sean's name may be made to the ALS Association, at www.jtwalk.org or to CHKD Health and Surgery Center, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, VA 23507. Online condolences may be offered to the family at hdoliver.com.

Dear Marque, Joe, Jasen and family, I'm so sorry to hear about Sean, one of the nicest guys I've ever met! I only had sporadic contact over the years with Sean but each time I ran into him it was like it hadn't been long since we last talked. We liked to talk about a great summer in 1985 when a bunch of us played for Joe in the Pony League World Series. Sean was a couple years older than us and served as a mentor and friend. He loved baseball. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.

Dear Marque and Joe:

Kathi and I are shocked and deeply saddened to hear of your loss. I can remember our animated conversatons about Sean taking the boat to Harkers to fish for false albacore or fishing locally for speckled trout and striped bass. I know your strong faith and personal strength will provide great solice to his family during their time of need. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Lovas Family,
It was with tremendous sadness that I learned of Sean's passing. I will keep Sean and you all in my prayers and thoughts. I will greatly miss his humor, I could be having the worst day and then an e-mail would appear from Sean and I would get a good laugh. He was a huge help on a business level too. When I switched my Insurance to Nationwide, he made my switch easy and helped personally, something I am grateful for. I will miss his warmth, his laughter, his ever ready smile and most of all his friendship. May God Bless you and keep you in his care during this difficult time and always.

Dear Joe & family, Your loss saddens us greatly as your Sean was only two years older than our Sean. When I met you 26 years ago at Lynnhaven baseball field you introduced me to Sean and he has never failed us when we had an insurance question. His outgoing positive approach to life will be missed at your office and the CYCC.

Dear Lovas Family,
I am deeply saddened by your loss. Sean will definitely be remembered as a fun-loving, kind person. I met him through working at Harpoon Larry's, but over the years would just see him at the insurance office. He always took the time to catch up on old friends and memories. I will truly miss him.
