Marjorie Whitley Obituary


Marjorie Lee Whitley ZUNI - Marjorie Lee Whitley, 74, passed away Sept. 6, 2008. She was born in Isle of Wight County, the daughter of the late David and Ethel Turner Gardner. She was a longtime member of Antioch Church in Windsor where she was the treasurer for 30 years, taught Sunday school for numerous years, and was a member of the choir. She was predeceased by her daughter, Janet Lee Kello and son, Garland Gene Whitley. Marjorie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Garland S. Whitley of Zuni; daughter- in-law, Brenda G. Whitley; son-in-law, John Wayne Kello; grandchildren, Ann Francis Ellis, John Curtis Kello, and Amber Carol Whitley; five great-grandchildren; and good friends, Carter and Joyce Clements. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Holly Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Mark T. Habecker officiating. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, and other times at the residence.
