Elaine Sears Obituary


Elaine F. Sears VIRGINIA BEACH - Elaine Francisco Sears graduated to glory Sept. 8, 2008. Elaine was born in Danville, Va., April 1, 1949. After serving the Commonwealth for more than 30 years, Elaine retired from her position as the regional coordinator for the Virginia Department of Labor in 2005. Elaine lived each moment of her life to ensure the happiness of others. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her two precious granddaughters and was an avid and beloved member of Crossroads Community Church in Chesapeake. Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Jack D. Francisco Sr.; her mother, Hazel Barksdale Francisco; her brother, Jack David Francisco Jr.; and daughter, Sherri Lynne Elliott. She is survived by her husband, Vernon David Sears Sr.; two sons, Donald Clifton Elliott II and wife Jamie and Brandon Scott Elliott and wife Laura; two granddaughters, Isabella Lynn Elliott and Keelie Madison Elliott, all of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Phyllis Neill and husband Dennis of Seaford, Va., and Gloria McGee and husband Daryl of Danville, Va.; one brother, Timothy Francisco and wife JoAnne also of Danville. A memorial service will be conducted by Pastor Woody Wallace today at 11 a.m. in Crossroads Community Church, 2109 Centerville Turnpike Chesapeake, VA 23322. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Elaine to the Virginia Wesleyan Softball Team, c/o Brandon Elliott, 1584 Wesleyan Drive, Norfolk, VA 23502 or to the American Cancer Society, 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. My sincere condolences go out to everyone. Elaine and I were blessed to have shared 18 years together...and three wonderful children. I'm so sorry she was taken so soon - I truly will miss her!
