Mildred Bost

Mildred L. Bost CHESAPEAKE - Mildred Lee Bost, 92, formerly of Cedar Manor, died Sept. 9, 2008, at Sentara Nursing Center, Chesapeake. Born in Soddy, Tenn., Mrs. Bost was the daughter of the late William Lee Lane and Molly Melissa Worley Lane. She was also predeceased by her husband of 67 years, James Furches Bost; two children, Baby Boy Bost and Bobbie Jean Doctor; sisters, Beulah Mae Deal, Evelyn Fox, Pauline Lane and Martha Frances Eckerd; two brothers, Charles William Lane and John Paris Lane. She lived in Portsmouth for 35 years and moved to Clarksville, Va., upon retirement. Before her retirement, Mildred worked on the assembly line at General Electric for 10 years. Mrs. Bost was a former member of Buffalo Independent Baptist Church, Clarksville, and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Chesapeake. Mildred will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was a strong Christian and lived her life as a witness to Christ. Mrs. Bost is survived by a son, James Lee Bost; two daughters, Betty Ann Reaves and Evelyn Elaine Brown, all of Chesapeake; five grandchildren, Deborah Reaves, W. Allen Reaves, Rebekah Hasty, Debbie McIntosh and Ginger Evans; and six great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jessica McIntosh, Brittany and Elizabeth Hasty, David and Nicholas Evans; and a brother, Paul Calvin Lane of Hickory, N.C. The funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The Rev. Reggie Hester will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The interment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Conover Cemetery in Conover, N.C. The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the staff at Cedar Manor and Sentara Hospice for the care and compassion given to Mrs. Bost.
