Ola Godfrey Obituary


Ola Mae Godfrey CHESAPEAKE - Ola Mae Godfrey of the 1900 block of Robert Hall Blvd. passed away Sept. 6, 2008, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was born in Norfolk County and was the widower of Lewis Godfrey Jr. Besides her husband, she was also predeceased by two sisters and three brothers. Ola retired from Chesapeake General Hospital and was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church where she faithfully served on the Usher Board. She leaves to cherish her precious memory one daughter, Vivian Stanley (Herbert) of Chesapeake; one son, Lewis Godfrey III (Joann) of Chesapeake; three sisters, Virginia Woodson, Emma Blanchard and Willie Mae Sykes; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law but sister in spirit, Edith Godfrey; nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Luke Methodist Church, Chesapeake, with the Rev. H. Powell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church Saturday at 9 a.m. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.fitchettfuneralhome.com. Danielle M.
