Dorothy Campen Obituary
Dorothy Sadler Campen CHESAPEAKE - Dorothy Sadler Campen, 88, passed away Sept. 14, 2008, in Norfolk. A native of Hobucken, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Sally Sadler, and the widow of Sherrill Grey Campen Sr. She was a former member of Hobucken United Methodist Church in Hobucken. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy C. Gates and husband Raymond of Virginia Beach; three sons, Sherrill Grey Campen Jr. of New Bern, N.C., William Brinson Campen and wife Brenda of Chesapeake and Glenwood Bernard Campen and wife Cathy of Andover, Conn.; and brother, George Howard Sadler of Chesapeake. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. The burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 9 p.m. and at the residence of the daughter, Dorothy C. Gates, at other times.
