Michele Waranch Obituary


Michele Waranch VIRGINIA BEACH - Michele Waranch passed away Sept. 16, 2008, after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family. She was born Feb. 6, 1965, in Norfolk, and was a 1983 graduate of Norfolk Collegiate School and a 1987 graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park. Michele was a journalism major and worked in Washington, D.C., as a liaison on Capitol Hill. Michele will be greatly missed by her parents, Doris and Seeman Waranch; her sister, Lisa Gilbert (Mark); and her brothers, Michael Waranch (Nisha) and Neil Waranch. Michele's nieces and nephews, Matthew Gilbert and Blake, Sloan and Lyle Waranch, brought her many years of joy. A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby St., Norfolk, Thursday at 1 p.m. conducted by Rabbi Rosalin Mandelberg and Cantor Jennifer Bern Vogel of Ohef Sholom Temple. The family will be receiving visitors at their home at 108 60th St., Virginia Beach, following the service and Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 1 and 5 p.m. Michele's family is grateful to all at Sentara's Windermere and would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Barbara Parks, Dr. Seth Greenberg and the wonderful staff on the 4th floor of Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital for their kindness and compassion. Anyone wishing to make a donation may do so to the charity of their choice. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.

Michele will definitely be missed, it was a pleasure caring for such a wonderful person. I remember feeding Michele her pasta & turkey sandwich, and watched channel 24, she used to always ask me where i was from because she said i have a funny accent. She will be missed!
