Hi everyone
I want to thank you all for the kindness you showed me while I was there to help your dad. He was a magnificent and loving man and I feel honored to have met you all. I wish I had more time with him but I do feel as though I came away a little piece of each of you. I hope you all will stay close and enjoy the love that keeps families together. I'll be thinking of you.

Raynelle,
I pray that the Lord will give you the peace that only He can give as you make these final arrangements. I didn't know you dad, but by the notes in the guest book, he must have been quite special. What a silly thing to say, with a daughter like you I should have known that. Hang in there girl.

Raynelle - you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. How blessed your daddy was to be surround by love as he took his last breath. He suffers no more and will now be there to call upon as your guardian angel.

AFTERGLOW

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when the day is gone.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times, and laughing times, and bright sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun,
Of happy memories I leave when life is done.

RIP RAYMOND. I'm so happy the Battlefields of Life was written so my brother Harry could meet his brother Garland. My deepest sympathies to Garland and family.

I cannot explain the joy that I have gotten out of my friendship with Ray. I was blessed to be asked by Ray to help with the writing of his book, and it was a life changing experience that opened my eyes to the plight of veterans everywhere. I became a better person through what I learned from working on his book, and what I learned through talking with him. He gave me great advice and always made sure I knew how much our friendship meant to him. One of my grandfathers passed away before I was born, and the other passed away when I was a very young child. Though I know my grandfathers can never be replaced, Ray became like a substitute grandfather to me. He was an amazing man, a treasured friend, and certainly a devoted father and grandfather. I will keep you all in my prayers.
