Prudencio Tandoc Obituary


Prudencio F. Tandoc NORFOLK - Prudencio Ferrer Tandoc, 84, passed away Sept. 17, 2008, in Norfolk. Born April 28, 1924, in Lingayen, Pangasinan in the Philippines, he grew up learning creative and handy-skills which contributed to his future. He gave years of service working for the Philippine government while raising a family in Dagupan City in the Philippines. In 1977, he emigrated to the U.S. with his late wife, Consolacion. He served the United Ilocano Association of Tidewater and the local Filipino community for more than a decade. He is survived by his son, Eduardo Tandoc and wife Perla; daughter, Erlinda Recel and husband Gaspar; son, Prudencio Tandoc Jr. and wife Annie; daughter, Lourdes Velicanidis and husband Demosten; grandchildren, Lin Goetz and husband George, Maria Tandoc McFarland, Karleen Rainey and husband Iain, Melanie Gonzaga and husband Paulo, Jessica Chen and husband Aaron, Edmond Recel and wife Nedenia, Nympha Tandoc, Prudencio Tandoc III, Jonathan Tandoc, Gladys Schanstra and husband Caroles; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa Recel Chen, Jason Recel Chen, Parker Vaughn Recel Gonzaga, Peyton Villaverde Recel Gonzaga, Leilani Mei Gonzaga and Jack McFarland; sister, Flora de Jesus and husband Alba and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. with a Christian wake to be held at 7 p.m. A funeral will be held at the funeral home Sunday at 3 p.m. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
