Joseph Eason Obituary


J. Philip Eason NAGS HEAD - Joseph Philip Eason, 82, died Sept. 21, 2008, at Britthaven of the Outer Banks in Nags Head. Born in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Sydney P. and Selma B. Eason and was preceded in death by his son, Joseph P. Eason Jr. and brothers, Reidel Eason, Elmo Eason and T.P. Eason. Mr. Eason was communication director with the National Security Agency. He was a member of Carrollan Woods Baptist Church in New Carrollton, Md. For many years, he was very active with the Boy Scouts of America and had served in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his wife, Jule Bowden Eason of Nags Head; daughter, Cynthia E. Peters and husband David of Kingsport, Tenn.; granddaughter, Tiffany P. O'Quinn of Kingsport; two great-granddaughters; brother, Carl Eason Sr. of Windsor, Va.; sisters, Edith Beyke of Fairfax, Va., Virginia Graves of Baltimore and Patricia Grinnan of Norfolk. A funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery, Isle of Wight County, Virginia, by the Rev. Jim Lewis and the Rev. David M. Peters. Memorial donations may be made to the Residence Nursing Home Activity Fund Inc., Spark Unit, 430 W. Health Center Drive, Nags Head, NC 27959. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, Suffolk, is serving the family. Condolences may be registered at www.rwbakerfh.com.
