Sallie Russell Obituary


Sallie L. Russell CARRSVILLE - Sallie Lillian Russell, 83, of the 31400 block of Cecelia's Lane, died Sept. 19, 2008, in her residence. Born in Isle of Wight County, Mrs. Russell was a teacher's aide for Franklin City Public Schools. She was a member of Pulaski Baptist Church, Carrsville. She was the widow of Melvin Leon Russell. Survivors include a daughter, Veronica Brickhouse (Glen) of Chesapeake; six grandchildren, Adam Russell of Washington, D.C., April and Aisha Russell of Silver Spring, Md., Mark, Durell and Brandon Jones of Chesapeake; a host of great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Seth and Maggie Mitchell; a daughter, Evelyn Russell; and son, Gregory Russell. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Pulaski Baptist Church, Carrsville, by the Rev. Dr. R.E. Rodgers. Burial will be in Picot Family Cemetery, Carrsville. Visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Engram Funeral Home, 1001 Armory Drive, Franklin. The family will receive friends at the home of Cecilia Carson, 31471 Cecelia's Lane, Carrsville.
