Jini Persons Obituary


Jini L. Persons NORFOLK - After a long and courageous battle with breast cancer, our beloved wife, mother and Gigi, Jini L. Persons, 60, passed away peacefully at home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sept. 24, 2008. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 41 years, retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. Timothy B. Persons; her two children: daughter, Janet L. Carlson, husband James R. Carlson II and their children Patrick and Hannah Carlson; son, Dr. Timothy M. Persons, wife Gena Persons and their children Leah and Timothy D. Persons; her mother, Barbara Loomis; brothers, Harry and wife Maureen, Silas and wife Susan Loomis; and sister, Ruth Tucker. Jini was predeceased by her father, Clayton H. Loomis. We wish to thank Virginia Oncology and Dr. Thomas Alberico for their compassionate care. Please join the family for a memorial service to celebrate her life at 7 p.m. Monday at Kempsville Presbyterian Church, 805 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, with Pastor Dennis McQuown and the Rev. Dr. David Gyertson officiating. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the ongoing building fund for First Church of God, Anderson, 8600 Granby St., Norfolk, VA 23503 or Susan G. Komen For the Cure at www.komen.org. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.altmeyer.com.
