Farrie Grizzard Obituary
Farrie F. Grizzard DREWRYVILLE - Farrie Faison Grizzard, 89, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, surrounded by her loving children and family. Farrie grew up in the Low Grounds of Greensville County, Virginia, and was a longtime resident of Ivey Tract Road, Drewryville. She was predeceased by her husband, Wesley W. Grizzard, and nine brothers and sisters. Left to cherish her memory are three children, Jerry Grizzard and wife Dottie, Linda Hesaltine and husband David and Robin Hester; seven grandchildren, Susan Hiser, Kim Jones, Michele Core, Kelly Hesaltine, Audrey Hester, Rachel Hester, Adam Hester; four great-grandchildren, Chad Hiser, Railey Hiser, Claire Hiser and Brennan Core, and her sister, Ruby Williams. Mom was a shining beacon of love and life. She touched so many lives with her kindness, generosity and her abundance of love for her family. Through this love, her legacy will go on forever. Mom, we will miss you. Please join the family for visitation Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Echols Funeral Home Chapel, Emporia, where services to celebrate her life will follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Greensville Memorial Cemetery. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Andrews Cemetery Fund, c/o Sandra Noel, 8475 Low Ground Road, Emporia, VA 23847 or Person's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 246, Boykins, VA 23827.
