Eveleen Giles Obituary


Eveleen S. Giles PORTSMOUTH - Eveleen S. Giles, 54, of the 3600 block of Gateway Drive, died Sept. 25, 2008, in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. She was born in Portsmouth and was a member of New Mount Nebo RZUA Church, where she was an usher. Survivors include her husband, Wilbur Giles; two daughters, Chiquita Giles and Willowtina Blount (LeMar); two sons, Lemar and Sheldon Porter; five sisters, Maxine White (Russell), Mary J. Speight, Patricia Abner (Jerome), Loretta Lane (James) and Katrina Joyner (Deangelo); four brothers, Charlie Speight (Adelphia), Robert Speight, Alonzo Speight and Clinton Speight (Fern); eight grandchildren; two aunts and an uncle; nieces, nephews, mother-in-law, Dorothy Mills, other relatives, in-laws and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Leon Porter; mother, Mary Speight; father, Charlie Speight; and grandmother, Syble Lloyd. A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in New Mount Nebo RZUA Church by Pastor Theodore Lewis. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham St., Portsmouth, is in charge. Viewing will begin today at noon. The body will be in the church Thursday at 10 a.m. The family will be at the residence. www.fisherfuneral.com.
