Nathaniel Alexander Obituary


Nathaniel Alexander Sr. CHESAPEAKE - Nathaniel Linwood "Nat" Alexander Sr., 91, of the 200 block of Fernwood Farms Road, passed away Sept. 28, 2008, at his residence. He was born June 12, 1917, to the late Luna A. Jefferson and Nathaniel Mac Alexander in Norfolk. He was a member of the Ranger Hunting Club and Masonic Lodge No. 197. He was the retired owner of Alexander Bus Co. operating for 56 years. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Cleopatra Wright (Joseph) and Nathalin Alexander Carey (Maurice Jr.); four sons, Willie Alexander-Branch (Mary), Amos Bennett Jr. (Sylvia), Thaddeus Bennett Sr. (Karen) and Nathaniel Alexander Jr. (Robyn); two sisters, Juanita Robinson and Elsie Perry; two sisters-in-law, Sarah Bowmen and Susan Reed; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 120 W. Berkley Ave. The Rev. Mark S. Churn will officiate.
