Carrie Webster Obituary


Carrie W. Webster CHESAPEAKE - Carrie Williams Webster, 91, of Portsmouth, went home to be with the Lord, Oct. 2, 2008. Born in Martin County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Carrie Ross Williams. She was the widow of Jerry Webster. Carrie will be remembered as an avid golfer. She also enjoyed riding her bike and baking for her neighbors. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Chesapeake. Survivors include her two daughters, Joan O. Williams of Chesapeake and Betsy O. Witcher and husband Allen of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, James W. Overton and wife Penny of Suffolk; a stepson, Reggie Overton of Petersburg; grandchildren, Lisa Hamlet and husband Herb, Carla R. Witcher and Trish McKenney, Allen W. Witcher Jr. and wife Yesenia and Jennifer O. Belak and husband Brian; great-grandchildren, Matt, Meredith, Ainsley, Gabriela and Cambrie; a sister, Virginia Brice of Greenville, S.C.; and a brother, James Williams of Williamston, N.C. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk. Dr. Dan Koger will officiate. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive friends at the home of Lisa and Herb Hamlet from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday after the service. The family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to the staff at Lillian's Loving Care for the love and kindness shown to Carrie over the past six years.
