To all of Dwight's family members,
I worked at Hope House when "D" first came there in the 1980's. He was such a sweetheart and I have thought of him often over the years. His parents were sweethearts also and I know that they loved him as he did them, very much so.
When the article about him and your family came out, I saved it. I am still in the disability field and I share it with people new to the field in order to give them the big picture of why the people they assist daily deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
I have you all in my toughts and prayers during this time.
(My last name was Gaskins back then!)

To All of Dwight's Family Members,

I had the honor of knowing Dwight when he lived in his own home in Norfolk; first on Colonial Avenue, then on Redgate. He touched many, many hearts and the lives of people who knew and learned from him. I wish for him now the words of an Irish Blessing: May the road rise to meet you "D", May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face "D" and the rains fall soft upon your fields....and until we meet again "D", May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Dear Cindy,
Dwight truely was a shining jewel. He taught all us so much, more than we taught him. He will be greatly missed.
