Dear Dwight 's all the family ,
I am so sorry to hear the sad news. With heavy heart and tearful eyes I would like send you all hug as I do not have enough words to express my condolences for the loss you feeling due to passing away of Dear Dwight jr.
At this time it will seem like impossible to get over Dwight's but the love & tender care you nurture Dwight for all his life certainly give you courage to face harder challenges of life and more so certainly gives courage to families like me who nurture their children/adults born with Down syndrome .
You realize that Dwight's love has brought you all families more closer and created a everlasting bond which is a priceless gift he has left for you all.
I cannot thank you enough Dwight's father for creating the video . As well thank his mom and 3 sisters whose love made his life exceptionally blessed and inspirational to all of us .
On behalf of my family as well the family at “Global Connection” please accept our condolence and prayers to bring you peace
Best Wishes,
Dr. Sindoor Desai

To all of Dwight's family members,
I worked at Hope House when "D" first came there in the 1980's. He was such a sweetheart and I have thought of him often over the years. His parents were sweethearts also and I know that they loved him as he did them, very much so.
When the article about him and your family came out, I saved it. I am still in the disability field and I share it with people new to the field in order to give them the big picture of why the people they assist daily deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
I have you all in my toughts and prayers during this time.
(My last name was Gaskins back then!)

To All of Dwight's Family Members,
I had the honor of knowing Dwight when he lived in his own home in Norfolk; first on Colonial Avenue, then on Redgate. He touched many, many hearts and the lives of people who knew and learned from him. I wish for him now the words of an Irish Blessing: May the road rise to meet you "D", May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face "D" and the rains fall soft upon your fields....and until we meet again "D", May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Dear Cindy,
Dwight truely was a shining jewel. He taught all us so much, more than we taught him. He will be greatly missed.
