Frances Servonsky Obituary


Frances Ann Servonsky NORFOLK - Frances Ann Servonsky, 86, passed away Oct. 7, 2008, in Sentara Leigh Hospital. A native of West Point, Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Ann Janosky and the widow of Benjamin Stanley Servonsky. She was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a loving and nurturing mother and grandmother. She often spent her afternoons in her garden, bowling with friends and enjoying time with her family. She is survived by her four daughters, Judy Carlson and husband Bruce of Annandale, N.J., Jane Servonsky and Trisha Clifford, both of Norfolk, and Theresa Wimbish and husband Col. William Lee Jr., U.S. Army, of Alexandria, Va.; four grandchildren, Lindsay and Lacy Clifford and William III and Katherine Wimbish; her brother, Stanley Janosky of Tampa, Fla.; and her son-in-law, Charlie Pefley. She was predeceased by her daughter, Marie Pefley. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Sentara Leigh Hospital and Beth Sholom for their kindness and compassion given to Frances. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Brian Rafferty officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 6315 North Center Drive, Norfolk, VA 23502. I will always remember your mom's gentle and quiet ways when we were growing up. Trisha - you are truly a loving daughter to have watched over and protected her every day when she was no longer able to. Now she is an angel to watch over you.
