Verdia Cox Obituary
Verdia L. Cox CHESAPEAKE - Verdia L. Cox, 69, passed away Oct. 8, 2008, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Ethridge Lee Barnett and Hazel Leigh Wollard Barnett and was predeceased by her brothers, Kenny Barnett and James Barnett. Survivors include her husband, Donald R. Cox; children, Michael Maier and wife Connie and Richard Maier and wife Roxane; grandchildren, Casey, Michael and Shelby Maier; and brothers, William Barnett and wife Patricia and Larry Barnett; and sister, Janice Miles. A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The Rev. Tom Mercer will officiate. A visitation will follow the service until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Verdia will be deeply missed by her loving family, friends, and neighbors, and all who knew and loved her.
