Audrey Danoff

Audrey G. Danoff VIRGINIA BEACH - Audrey Fay Gordon Danoff, 74, died Oct. 14, 2008, at the Terrace at Beth Sholom Village in Virginia Beach. A native of Portsmouth, she was the daughter of the late Rueben and Sara Gordon. Audrey is remembered as a woman who loved to laugh and crack a joke. "Queenie," as she was known to some, had an indomitable spirit and exemplified the power of positive thinking. She loved playing blackjack, backgammon, and gin rummy with many of her lifelong friends. Her sales talents were legendary and experienced equally by all levels of society. Pet companions Juliette, Nikki, and Taco brought her great joy, but her connection to her 20 family was her most prized possession, and she reveled in the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, siblings and cousins. She is survived by her children, Ruby Jo Hiller and her husband David, Gary Danoff and his wife Debbie, and her daughter Ruth Danoff; her brothers, Hyman and Alvin Gordon; and grandchildren, Sarah Rebecca Hiller, Maurice Franklin Hiller, Jacob Scott Danoff and Alex Aaron Danoff. The funeral will be held in the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. at 2:30 p.m. Thursday with Rabbi Michael Panitz officiating. Burial will follow in Gomley Chessed Cemetery in Portsmouth.
