Dwayne Butts Obituary


Dwayne R. Butts NORFOLK - Dwayne R. Butts, 50, of the 300 block of E. Little Creek Road, passed away Oct. 14, 2008, at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born July 20, 1958, to the late Mary M. and Willie H. Butts Sr. in Norfolk. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Leonard. Dwayne was a longtime resident of Norfolk where he was employed by Campbell Paving. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Cynthia Butts; two daughters, Monique Whitehurst and Latoria Butts Jenkins; three grandsons, Quayshon and DeSean Whitehurst and Robert Jenkins; two brothers, Willie H. Butts Jr. and James Butts; five sisters, Lelia B. Haynes, Doris Butts, Alma Drummond, Mary Patterson and Cynthia Royster; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. The Rev. Keith I. Jones will officiate. Interment will be at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday with the family receiving friends from 4 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
