Augusta P. Ellison CHESAPEAKE - Augusta Pressley Ellison of Flintlock Road, a much loved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away Oct. 17, 2008. Born in Asheville, N.C., to the late Ervin F. and Ethel Merrell Pressley, Augusta graduated from Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C., with a degree in primary education. She retired as an elementary school teacher with the Fairfax County public school system. Since moving to Great Bridge, she was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Augusta is survived by her loving husband, Eugene M. Ellison; two sisters, Estelle Turner of Virginia Beach and Marian E. "Patsy" Costas of Chesapeake; and a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom miss her sense of humor, the stories told about their youth and the warmth, generosity and love she extended them. A memorial service celebrating Augusta's life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Oak Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy McMillen officiating. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
