Howard Berry Obituary


Howard J. Berry VIRGINIA BEACH - Howard Jr. Berry passed away Oct. 24, 2008. Born in Oklahoma, Oct. 7, 1926, he was the oldest of seven children and a child of the Great Depression. He served his country in World War II and the Korean War. He was an original plank owner of the USS Laffey and a Pearl Harbor survivor. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Diane; his children, Kathleen Fletcher and his son-in-law Eric Fletcher, Mary Roundy and her husband Russell and Howard Berry; grandchildren, Jason Lilley, Tara Schuse and Alexis Coates. He was an active member of the American Steel Guitar Society. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Princess Anne Memorial Park on Great Neck Road. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans. We will miss him dearly.
