Louis Wig Obituary


Louis Charles Wig Jr. NORFOLK - Louis Charles Wig Jr., 82, of the 8000 block of Alida Drive, died Oct. 24, 2008, in a local hospital. He was a native of Titusville, Pa., and was the son of the late Louis Charles Wig Sr. and Eleanora Lutz Wig. He was preceded in death by his sister, Annabelle Palfrey. Mr. Wig retired from the U.S. Navy after 25 years service to his country and was a veteran of World War II. He later worked for the Naval Station Mail Directory from 1968 until his retirement in 1988. He was a Roman Catholic and a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Guy Wig of Norfolk; his daughter, Theresa A. Meenan and her husband Bob of Virginia Beach; his sons, Louis C. Wig III and his wife Martine of Jacksonville, Ark., and Stephen A. Wig of Norfolk; his sister, Joyce Farley of Meadville, Pa.; and four granddaughters, Alicia, Sarah, Esther and Rebecka; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Venancio Balarote Jr. Memorial donations may be made to St. Pius X Catholic School. H.D.
