Nancy Edwards

Nancy B. Edwards AHOSKIE - Nancy Britton Edwards, 90, of the 1300 block of NC Hwy. 461, died Oct. 27, 2008, in Ahoskie. Mrs. Edwards was born in Hertford County, a daughter of the late Charles Nathan and Lillie Teaster Britton. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church and a homemaker. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Judith Edwards Parker and her husband Troy Lee Parker Jr. of Ahoskie; her son, Herman Oscar Edwards Jr. and his wife Brenda Fairless Edwards of Greenville, N.C.; her grandchildren, Charles Norfleet Edwards Jr., Michael Scott Edwards, Mark Britton Edwards, Hope Parker Eure, Lori Parker Smith, Amy Edwards Powell, Cindy Edwards Asbell; six great- grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Sarah Roberts Edwards. Besides her husband, Herman Oscar Edwards, Nancy was predeceased by a son, Charles N. Edwards. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Garrett Funeral Home-Ashley Chapel, 205 NC Hwy. 42 West, Ahoskie, with the Rev. Dr. Jesse J. Croom and Rev. Ronald McSwain officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 8:30 p.m. today and other times at the home of her daughter.
