Thelma Gordon Obituary
Thelma C. Gordon VIRGINIA BEACH - Thelma Curvin Gordon, 77, went home to be with the Lord Oct. 26, 2008. She was born in Newark, N.J., on Nov. 20, 1930. Thelma leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Eric Menfield Gordon; her two daughters, Vanessa Imani Gordon and Marcia Lynn Gordon; grandchildren, John Eric Hearns, Menfield Lee Hearns and Thelma Dorothy Sabb; and other relatives and friends. A homegoing service will be held Friday at noon in Mt. Zion AME Church, 2268 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. A period of remembrance and visitation with the family will be held today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the E. Andre Brown Funeral Establishment, 3336 Holland Road, Virginia Beach, (757) 468-2330.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. Thelma was a joy to have as a Master Gardenering Friend. I will miss her.

I have only the fondest of memories of Mrs Gordon and the Gordon family. While my childhood memories remain vivid and fresh, untouched by life; the final words she spoke to me on this side of heaven after the passing of my father remained etched in my heart and mind. They were words of comfort, strength, and hope to move forward. It is my prayer that the Lord will do for all of you, what He and Mrs Gordon did for me.
