Vera Williams Obituary


Vera N. Williams VIRGINIA BEACH - Vera N. Williams, 76, of the 4500 block of Whitechapel Court, passed away Oct. 29, 2008 in Norfolk. A native of Union County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late David and Lola Norton. She retired from civil service as a secretary in the supply department at the Naval Air Station, Building V-53, after 20 years of service. She was a member of Bayside Presbyterian Church for 25 years. In her youth, she sang in the church choir with her beautiful voice. She enjoyed traveling and camping with the VA Coasters Camping Club. She was also a lover of pug dogs. Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, John H. Williams; her daughter, Claire Pisko of Connecticut; her son, Bobby Huskey of Williamsburg; and three sisters, Leona Cate, Anne Naill and Mary Lou Manning, all of Tennessee. She is also survived by three godsons, Allan Boitnott of New Castle, Billy Puls (active duty U.S. Army), and Jeremiah Huskey of Connecticut; a goddaughter, Monica Sue Puls of Missouri; two special nieces, Joyce Ann and Mary Nell; and a host of other nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, with Dr. Harry Daniel and Dr. Daniel Dickenson officiating. The burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
