Joseph Stacy Obituary

Joseph M. Stacy VIRGINIA BEACH - Joseph Manson "Joe" Stacy, 74, passed away at home Oct. 28, 2008, from lung cancer and a long battle with diabetes. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, five sons and seven grandchildren. Joe served his country in the Air Force. He also was a Norfolk police officer for 10 years. He transferred to the Virginia Beach Police Department in 1969 and retired in 1993. Joe will be missed not only as a caring husband, father and grandfather, but also as a companion and friend. Joe enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and the outdoors with his family. He loved to buy electronic gadgets and tools that he would always have someone else operate for him; we will miss those laughs. His signature statement was "Dammit Bunny" and will be remembered forever with a smile. Cremation Society of Virginia Beach is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

Joe will always be remembered as a great friend.
There are so many treasured memories of Joe with his family. I think the word family describes Joe the best. They were number one to him.
My love and prayers to each family member.
I will miss him, but now he is safe.

My sympathy goes to the family of Joe.  I had the pleasure of serving with Joe on the Virginia Beach Police Department. Joe was always a pleasant person to be around and was a friend to everyone and always willing to assist when needed. He had health problems at the time but never allowed them to interfear with his duties and never complained about them. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. God bless his family.
