Maurice Curling Obituary


Maurice Curling CHESAPEAKE - Maurice "Moe" Curling, 58, of the Deep Creek section, passed away suddenly Nov. 2, 2008, in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. A Norfolk native, Moe was the son of the late Laymond "Pop" Curling and Arline Marcotte Curling. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Arlene Marie Curling. Moe graduated from Norview High School and was employed at OESSCO in Chesapeake for 20 years and was serving as a fueling systems technician for Landmark Aviation with 20 years of service. He was a member of Church of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Portsmouth. Survivors include his loving wife, Carletta A. Curling; a daughter, Amy L. Curling of Chesapeake; a brother, James J. Curling and wife Christina of Michigan; two sisters, Darlene Wellington and husband Scott of Chesapeake and Lucille Kann and husband Frank of Norfolk; two nephews, Mike Wellington and wife Melissa and Brett Wellington, all of Chesapeake. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at Church of The Holy Angels, 34 Afton Parkway, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Michael Boehling. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Friends may send tributes to his permanent memorial at www.mem.com.
