Jesse Arrington Obituary


Jesse E. Arrington Jr. CHESAPEAKE - Jesse E. Arrington Jr., 62, of the 1800 block of Speedy Ave., died Nov. 1, 2008, in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. He was born in Norfolk County and was a 1963 graduate of Crestwood High School in Chesapeake. He also attended Hampton Institute (University) and Norfolk State University. He retired from the federal government as a law enforcement officer. He began his career as a Chesapeake police officer. He was a former air traffic comptroller and U.S. Marshal for several years. He was a member of Divine Baptist Church, Chesapeake, and served as junior superintendent of the Sunday school. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was predeceased by his parents, Jesse E. Arrington and Julia Arrington. He is survived by one daughter, Karen Arrington; two grandchildren, Brielle Muriel and Danielle Muriel, all of Virginia Beach; aunt, Elleen Harper of Chesapeake; cousins, Earline Cradle, Massachusetts, Pia Cradle, Herndon, Va., James Harper (Kay), Petersburg, Va., Hilary Harper (Zina), Richmond, Earl Wick, Portsmouth; two dear friends, Emma Graffius, Chesapeake and Willie Greason Jr., Texas; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Divine Baptist Church. The Rev. Maurice Hilliard will serve as clergy. Burial will be at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
