Pauline Hallstead Obituary

Pauline C. Hallstead VIRGINIA BEACH - Our beloved Pauline Hallstead passed peacefully into God's loving arms Nov. 2, 2008. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Pauline was a devoted Navy wife to her husband Jesse for 57 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and a challenging game of bridge. Pauline was an active member of her church family throughout her life and was surrounded by many loving friends. Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Linda Monteith (Jon) of Houston, Susan Spears (Rick) of Virginia Beach, Carol Drapala (John) of Seattle and Mark Hallstead (Ticia) of Meridian, Idaho; her sister, Marlene Lusiani of Las Vegas; and her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Family will gather and receive friends at 10 a.m. Thursday at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach, followed by a service at 11 a.m. Many people shared their love with Pauline over the years. We would like to extend a special thank you to the volunteers of the Citizens Committee to Protect the Elderly and to Dr. Patterson and the staff at Sea Side Health Center for their tender care over the last six years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Citizens Committee to Protect the Elderly, Attn: Judith Stevens, P.O. Box 10100, Virginia Beach, VA 23450. Friends are invited to send condolences and sign the online guest book at www.hdoliver.com.
