Russel Ashcraft Obituary


Russel Glen Ashcraft VIRGINIA BEACH - Russel Glen "Tim" Ashcraft, 75, passed away Nov. 4, 2008. He was born April 14, 1933, in Shinnston, W.Va., to the late Ernest and Laura Ashcraft. Tim served his country in the U.S. Navy retiring as chief warrant officer after 26 years of service. He enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Thalia Thumpers. Tim was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly Ashcraft; a son, Russel G. Ashcraft Jr.; and a daughter, Kathleen Ashcraft. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy Ashcraft of Chesapeake; son, Larry Dale Ashcraft and his wife Bridget of Virginia Beach; sister, Betty Craig of West Virginia; three grandchildren, Larry Dale Ashcraft Jr. and Melissa, Jennifer Nicole Ashcraft and Virginia Ashcraft; and two great-grandchildren, Drew Austin and Taylor Raine Ashcraft. Services will be private and are being handled by Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. You may offer condolences at www.mem.com.

I was out of town last week and just learned or Russ' passing. I am so sorry to hear about it. Russ has been a good neighbor and friend for many many years and will be missed.
