Frances W. J. Parker VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Frances "Momma-Gay" W. Jackson Parker, resident of the North End, passed away Nov. 6, 2008, in her home. Born Jan. 5, 1925, in Norfolk, she was the only child of the late William T. Walker and Ruby Estelle Reid. She was raised in Norfolk and lived for many years in Virginia Beach. She graduated from Maury High School in 1943. She worked as a bookkeeper for Tidewater Builders Inc., Mid-Atlantic Glass and Atlas Glass where she was the treasurer before retiring. She attended Wycliffe Presbyterian Church, and was a member of AARP and the Order of the Eastern Star. Frances loved entertaining, boating and spending time with her family. Frances was predeceased by her husbands, Charles F. Jackson and James R. Parker, and her great-grandchild, Kaitlyn F. Patterson. She is survived by her two sons, Larry Thomas Jackson and his wife Lynda and Ronald Walker Jackson and his wife Julie, all of Virginia Beach; her companion; Fred Rudiger of Virginia Beach; her brother, Gene Jackson and his wife Dee of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, Lori A. Patterson and her husband Ed of Virginia Beach, Sheryl D. Andersen and her husband Jeff of East Windsor, N.J., Kriston P. Rabon and her husband Kevin of Conway, S.C., Charles W. "Chip" Jackson of Virginia Beach, Chad E. Jackson and Nathalie A. Jackson of Virginia Beach; seven great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Katherine and Alexander Patterson, Jason, Justin and Adin Andersen and Hannah Rabon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Virginia Oncology Associates, especially Dr. Alberico, and the many nurses and staff at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and Atlantic Shores Seaside Rehabilitation. A special thank you to the members of Wycliffe Presbyterian Church for their love, prayers and generosity. Frances was a truly gracious lady in every sense. She knew the value of friendship, laughter and love. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. A celebration of Frances' life will held in Forest Lawn Cemetery Saturday at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. Dr. James R.M. Young.
