Elsbeth Glaubke Obituary


Elsbeth E. Glaubke NORFOLK - Elsbeth Ella Glaubke, 88, passed Nov. 5, 2008, in Craven Regional Hospital, New Bern, N.C. She was born in Pockuschel, Germany, March 14, 1920. Elsbeth immigrated to America with her husband and two daughters in March 1952 and was a resident of Norfolk for 54 years. She is survived by daughters, Christel Carila Mount of Virginia Beach and Ute Meyer of New Bern and her husband Larry Meyer; five grandchildren, Randolph Carila of Ruckersville, Va., John Carila and Alex Carila, both of Virginia Beach, Kevin Meyer of Apex, N.C., and Holly Meyer of New Bern; four great-grandchildren, Krista Carila, Ryan Carila and Heather Perry, all of Virginia Beach, and Hinton Meyer of Apex; and one great-great-grandchild, Braydin Perry of Virginia Beach. The family will receive friends in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 6510 N. Military Hwy., Norfolk, Monday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Zimmerman and Pastor James Daub officiating. The burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk or St. Paul Lutheran Church, 305 Hwy 70 West, Havelock, NC 28532. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johannes Karl Glaubke. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
