Ruth Kriebel VIRGINIA BEACH - Ruth "Nana" Kriebel went peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord at her daughter's home Nov. 3, 2008. She was born in Cambridge, Md., Aug. 22, 1921, to Daniel and Rebecca Willis. She grew up in the Washington, D.C., area before moving to Akron, Ohio and then Vestal, N.Y. She moved to Virginia Beach permanently in 2002. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Don and her brother, Dan and sister-in-law Jean. She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Randy (Marilyn) of Indiana; sister-in-law, Dolly (Ralph) Carris of Ohio; son, Mark (Patricia), Endwell, N.Y.; daughter, Laurie (Brad) Cumming of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Dan and Jenny Kriebel and Amy Cumming; great-granddaughter, Jaylynn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth worked for 10 years with AT&T, but cherished her time staying home with her children. She volunteered with Wilson Memorial Hospital for 20 years and Calvary United Methodist Church. Her happiest time was spent golfing with her husband and daughter. She enjoyed gardening, bridge, cross-stitch, the theater and going out to eat with family and friends. She loved her travels with family to Europe, China and San Diego. She was blessed to have treasured new friends, Madeleine, Barbara and Beverly. Ruth was gentle, kind, loving and giving and will sorely be missed by all who knew her.
