Dorothy Marshall Obituary


Dorothy H. Marshall NORFOLK - Dorothy H. Marshall of the 900 block of W. Princess Anne Road died Nov. 8, 2008, in Norfolk. She was born in Richmond, Va., the daughter of the late Harry Lee Hechler and Mable Baker Hechler. She was past president of the Woman's Club of Norfolk, past regent of the Borough of Norfolk Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, past secretary, treasurer and district director of the DAR, past state librarian of the Virginia DAR, past president of the Women's Auxiliary of St. Andrews Church. She was also a longtime volunteer with the Joy Fund, a member of the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club and of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Mrs. Marshall was the widow of Luther B. Marshall. She is survived by a goddaughter, Ann C. Ridley of Ambridge, Pa., and godson, Richard Hudgins of California. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, by the Rev. Margery Howell. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
